Category 5 Labour Management is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and commissioning electrical power and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement electrical power and control system designs, ensuring compliance with International Standards and Australian Standards.
- Lead and mentor Graduate Engineers, providing guidance on project work, designs, and technical issues.
- Review and approve work completed by Graduate Engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments, legislative requirements, and technological advancements.
- Manage and report on projects, including budgetary and time frame management, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contribute to business development and direction by identifying new markets and innovations.
- Develop and maintain technical reports, specifications, and papers, as required by the company and its clients.
- Improve and develop company systems, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain contracts with clients, ensuring strong relationships and customer satisfaction.
- Assist Senior Engineers with project work and designs, as needed.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a post-graduate program.
- Strong knowledge and commitment to safety and customer service.
- Proven expertise in specialist protection and analysis software for power systems and earthing system design.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Well-organized, pragmatic, and able to handle a diverse and complex workload.
- Demonstrable advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Friendly and approachable, with a good sense of humor.
- Flexible, consistent, and willing to lead and learn.
- Aptitude to use initiative and make decisions.
- Ability to perform small to medium projects from concept stages through to post-commissioning support.
- Advanced power and earthing system knowledge, including time current curve analysis, step/touch potential analysis, and designs, load flow modeling experience, fault level analysis, arc flash analysis, and calculations. PTW Powertools and CDEGS software experience is advantageous.
