Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a proficient Technical Application Support Specialist to enhance our vibrant team. In this capacity, you will oversee the installation, upkeep, and improvement of our existing application platforms. Your contributions will be essential in refining system configurations and ensuring seamless functionality. As part of a compact team, you will also assist in the comprehensive management of our IT framework. Your technical acumen will be vital in delivering exceptional support to our internal clients and facilitating the transition to cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and monitor the application server environment, focusing on Jboss EAP.
  • Administer and support databases, including MMSQL, Oracle, and Postgres, handling backup and restoration tasks. Experience in database management and SQL execution is beneficial.
  • Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to ensure optimal operations.
  • Conduct regular feedback and consulting sessions with various departments.
  • Work across both Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Perform system management duties, including patching and maintaining application platforms like JBOSS and SQL.
  • Assist in the migration to cloud technologies, especially Azure, showcasing expertise in Kubernetes, Microservices, and Container deployment.
  • Adhere to security protocols and execute tasks accordingly.
  • Enhance and automate internal tools for application oversight.
  • Establish and enforce application management protocols.
  • Carry out diverse application management tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance to our internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or equivalent certification in Application Platforms (JBOSS/MS SQL) or a robust background in this domain.
  • Several years of experience as a System Engineer (Systems/Applications Support).
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Linux/Windows
    • JBoss/Websphere
    • Databases: Oracle/SQL Server/Postgres
    • Bamboo/Jenkins
    • Container technologies (open container initiative)
    • Azure IaaS and Networking
    • GitOps
  • Strong interest in providing comprehensive IT support, including hardware, Linux and Windows systems, networks, and firewalls.
  • Focus on automation, monitoring, and configuration management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, proactive attitude, and a motivated team player.
  • Hands-on approach and enthusiasm for addressing challenging technical issues.
  • Natural inclination towards creativity and innovation.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
