Primary Care Specialist Opportunity

This part-time position requires a skilled Medical Officer to deliver primary medical care to patients. Working every Wednesday and Thursday, plus one on-call shift per week, you will make a positive impact in the lives of Defence members.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working towards achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence personnel. Your key responsibilities will include assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and providing care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Please note: you must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
