Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Director of Portfolio Optimization to join our team at Westpac Group. As a key member of our Consumer COO Risk & Regulatory Delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the management of our Risk & Regulatory Delivery portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Risk & Regulatory Program Delivery and Portfolio Directors in managing the governance services model, aligned to Divisional and Enterprise standards.
  • Lead a team of PMO Professionals (PMO Managers and PMO Analysts) to ensure effective delivery of project governance services.
  • Establish and oversee the project health evaluation process, including reporting, funding, project compliance, risks, and issues, and tracking of major project milestones across the portfolio.
  • Establish, oversee, and maintain the Consumer Risk & Regulatory "Centre of Excellence" operating rhythm and executive reporting.
  • Monitor and report on regulator and Board commitments, including breach reporting to regulators.
  • Lead workforce planning and capability to ensure effective delivery of resource and workforce-related initiatives and strategies, actively managing cost optimization.
  • Drive consistency through programs through the use of aligned tools and processes.
  • Own overall Program adherence to Transformation Delivery Standards and consult on right-sizing for Programs.
  • Liaise with key PMO and Finance stakeholders, within the Division and across the Enterprise, ensuring that obligations and commitments are realistic and achievable with existing program timeline and budgets.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have significant demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally gained from the Financial Services industry. You will also have robust analytical and advisory abilities, with the capability to deliver clear, actionable recommendations that enhance business performance and growth.
