PostgreSQL Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage our database environments and ensure their availability and performance.

  • This individual will be responsible for managing multiple database environments, including non-production, production, and disaster recovery environments.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Postgres Enterprise and/or Community editions and expertise in database management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Environment Management: Ensure the availability and performance of our database environments.
  2. Collaboration with Support Teams: Work closely with support teams to optimize hardware resources and minimize downtime.
  3. Trend Analysis and Capacity Planning: Conduct trend analysis to inform capacity planning decisions.
  4. Implementation and Maintenance: Implement enhancements, maintenance, and upgrades to our database environments.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years of experience as an SQL/Postgres DBA. Strong knowledge of Postgres Enterprise and/or Community editions is required, along with expertise in database management.

A strong understanding of architecture and operations within Postgres and MS-SQL environments is necessary. Experience with Red Hat Cluster, especially with PostGres, is highly desirable.
