Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced heavy vehicle maintenance manager to lead our workshop team. As a seasoned professional, you will leverage your expertise in vehicle management to ensure the safe operation and optimal performance of our facilities.

This key role is responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle maintenance, adhering to compliance regulations, company policies, and manufacturer guidelines.

The Role's Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanics, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Coordinate staff training, rosters, and underperformance/disciplinary matters with HR and senior management
  • Manage workshop finances and administrative functions, including budget planning and forecasting
  • Monitor results and meet key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Conduct quality checks and routine vehicle service requirements, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications
  • Manage tools, parts, and consumable stock, optimizing inventory levels and minimizing waste
  • Provide technical support to branch managers and coordinate major jobs with operational staff to minimize disruption

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
  • NSW Trade Licence
  • Diagnostic ability and skillset to complete required repairs, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Self-motivated and solutions-focused individual with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Minimum Class C Licence and/or willingness to obtain an HR Licence
