Job Overview:

A Mid-Senior level position is available for a professional to lead coal mined and crushed performance, focusing on productivity, quality, and handleability. The ideal candidate will have experience in open cut coal mining geology, preferably in the Hunter Valley or multi-seam mining.

About the Role:

This challenging role involves leading coal recovery in line with reserved tonnages and qualities. Responsibilities include routine pit and stockpile inspections, providing guidance and feedback to planning and production teams on coal mining practices. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing daily coal mining, stockpiling, and feed plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coal mined and crushed performance with a focus on productivity, quality, and handleability through processing.
  • Lead coal recovery in line with reserved tonnages and qualities.
  • Undertake routine pit and stockpile inspections, providing guidance and feedback to planning and production teams on coal mining practices.
  • Provide daily coal mining, stockpiling, and feed plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain in-pit and ROM coal inventory movements for up-to-date, short-term scheduling.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Open Cut Coal mining geology experience, preferably in the Hunter Valley or multi-seam mining.
  • Experience in a coal mining or coal planning role is advantageous.
  • An understanding of coal quality / beneficiation.
