About the Role

Luma Pictures is seeking a talented Character FX Artist to join our Australian team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality character effects, including fur, hair, and grooming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop simulation setups for photo-realistic creatures, including clothing, fur, hair, muscle, and skin.
  • Collaborate with the visual effects supervisor and lead artists to determine the best creative approaches and techniques for each project.
  • Deliver work within established project targets and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Experience with hair and fur grooming is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a CFX/FX role in a VFX or animation studio.
  • Previous experience on CG characters/creature projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya and Houdini.
  • Experience in dynamic simulation, including cloth, hair/fur, feathers, skin, and muscle.
  • Rigging skills and experience.
  • An ambitious desire for self-growth, ownership, and collaboration.
