Job Title: Teacher Aide

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Education Support Professional to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will work as part of a collaborative teaching team, committed to supporting students to achieve their personal best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide learning support for students in classroom, small group, and one-to-one settings under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Foster a growth mindset within students.
  • Monitor, model and encourage appropriate social and emotional learning, and develop positive behaviour plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with procedures and legislation.
  • Contribute to and participate in relevant training and professional development activities, including regular supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as determined by the Manager of Student Learning/Principal.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Education Support.
  • Experience supporting students who have been disengaged from mainstream school and ability to re-engage and motivate students into educational/training pathways.
  • Understanding of the effects of trauma on young people.
  • Experience working with students in years 7-12.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable families.
