Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide tailored support to students with disabilities in an educational setting. This role is vital in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring all students have equal access to education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering individualized educational programs for students with diverse learning needs.\
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, facilitating their participation in classroom activities.\
  • Support and assist students who require assistive technology to communicate.\
  • Implement and support behaviour management strategies in line with individual student plans.\
  • Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, mobility and feeding, as required.\
  • Support students during school excursions and extracurricular activities.\
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and report on student progress.\
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.\
  • Highly Desired Skills:\
    • \
    • A Certificate III or IV in Education Support or equivalent qualification.\
    • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.\
    • A strong understanding of the needs of students with disabilities, including physical impairment, intellectual disabilities, ASD, and ADHD, and the use of assistive technology.\
    • The ability to implement individualized learning strategies and behaviour management plans.\
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification.\
    • A Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.\
