About the Role
You will have responsibility for leading various activities and delivering key tasks:

  • Advocate, counsel, and provide psychoeducational assessments and individual support to students, teachers, and parents regarding educational, behavioural, career, mental health, and family matters.
  • Foster effective working relationships and partnerships with parents, school personnel, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support, case management, and referral services for students' optimal access and engagement in educational programs.
  • Assist students in decision-making processes for critical educational, personal, social, emotional, and career development, offering ongoing support during implementation.
  • Conduct student observations and psychoeducational assessments to identify learning difficulties, disabilities, developmental levels, or psychological and emotional status, and provide recommendations for educational adjustments and interventions.
  • Support schools in implementing student protection, gifted and talented education, behaviour support policies, and risk management processes, including the development of individualised student plans.
  • Provide specialised support in secondary schools, including involvement in Senior Education and Training (SET) planning, career development, and future pathway counselling.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality for students while appropriately sharing information as necessary, and maintain comprehensive and compliant record-keeping systems.
  • Participate in relevant professional development, delivering professional and personal skill development programs and in-service activities for administrators, teachers, and parents.
  • Provide leadership and specialised support in addressing student protection issues, critical incidents, emergencies, and transitions into alternative education programs and mainstream schooling.
  • Collaborate with other school-based support personnel to assess and address the intensive behaviour support needs of students.
