About the Leadership Role

The Service Lead will be a key member of the management team, supporting the General Manager to provide leadership across the Karlup Service. This involves ensuring the cultural and trauma-informed delivery of an efficient and seamless end-to-end recovery service for women and children.

The successful candidate will advocate on behalf of clients served by your team within senior and executive-level decision-making forums. This role is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the Karlup Service.

The role requires coaching and mentoring of direct reports to ensure agreed outcomes and performance indicators are achieved within available resources.

The successful candidate will be expected to apply personal drive, professional experience, and exemplary conduct to build and sustain a high-performing team that effectively responds to client needs, in line with the Karlup Service model of care.

Becoming a Part of Our Team

This is a full-time permanent position, working 38 hours per week between Monday to Friday, as well as participation on the on-call roster as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in providing inspirational leadership in the health and community sectors.
• Relevant qualifications in a related discipline at degree, diploma, or certificate level (e.g., Social Work or Psychology) and/or significant work experience with family and domestic violence.
• Significant understanding of, and commitment to, the Purpose, Vision, and Values of Ruah.
• An understanding of the political environment and current issues affecting the health and welfare system.
• Knowledge and expertise in current and emerging issues of family and domestic violence.
• Experience in reflective leadership practice and the management of teams and a diverse range of staff.
• Knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion, including gender, sexuality, disability, age, cultural, and linguistic diversity, and Aboriginal culture.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders and ensure strong community sector engagement.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at the highest level.

• A salary aligned with Level 7 of the relevant enterprise agreement, starting at $119,745.
