Job Overview

The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development seeks skilled professionals to join the Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) Advisory Board as independent members. This esteemed board provides valuable advice to decision-makers, adding significant value to the RAA.

Independent members will contribute their expertise in one or more fields: agricultural representation, banking and finance, farm management, social welfare, rural counseling, conservation, or other areas deemed necessary by the Minister.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide objective advice and contributions to strategic planning and business development.
  • Offer expert insight or guidance on strategic issues, industry trends, and market analysis, working collaboratively with the Advisory Board to provide collective advice to decision-makers.

Candidates should demonstrate exceptional personal and professional integrity. Prequalification under relevant government schemes is desirable but not essential.

What We Offer

Members will attend a minimum of four face-to-face meetings in Sydney, Orange, or other regional areas of NSW and participate in teleconferences throughout the year. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

This three-year appointment commences on 1 January 2026 and concludes on 31 December 2028. A selection panel will assess expressions of interest, and the Minister will seek Cabinet approval for membership.
