Six Degrees Executive is a leading recruitment agency in Melbourne CBD, specializing in finance and banking positions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Specialist to join our client's SMSF finance team.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum

The Role

This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension, based in the Melbourne CBD area with a hybrid working model (2 days in office, 3 days from home). As a Financial Services Specialist, you will be assisting the Fund Accountant in preparing and delivering high-quality management, statutory, and regulatory reports. You will also be responsible for tax returns, daily reconciliations, and general administrative support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing management reports, statutory financial statements, and regulatory submissions (APRA & ABS returns).
  • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, including BAS, withholding tax, and income tax.
  • Reconcile cash accounts, including member contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, and settlements.
  • Process fund transactions such as contributions, rollovers, and benefit payments.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Prior experience of at least 1-2 years in a fund accounting, superannuation, or investment operations role within the financial services industry is essential.
  • Self-managed super funds (SMSF) experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Class software is a must.
  • You should have a proactive approach, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good time management skills to meet stakeholder deadlines are necessary.
