Job Description

At Tal Services Limited, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. As the Team Leader of Quoting and Underwriting Alterations, you'll play a critical role in leading a dedicated team of Consultants and Technical Specialists.

Your primary focus will be to foster an engaged and high-performing culture within the team, ensuring the delivery of services in accordance with key performance metrics, service levels, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day workflow to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, offshore teams, and customer service and retention teams to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop plans to address issues with Technical Teams.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met, particularly in protecting sensitive customer information.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including business partners, users, vendors, customers, project team members, and management leaders.
  • Utilize AOM methodology and tools to plan and deliver against targets.
  • Communicate effectively across the business, providing timely and context-driven information.
  • Provide frequent, positive, and constructive feedback to team members, ensuring development plans align with individual and business needs.
  • Set goals, timeframes, and priorities based on strategy.
  • Encourage team members to use systems and processes effectively.
  • Implement changes that create value for customers and partners.
  • Communicate openly to engage customers, peers, and partners using various communication strategies.
  • Show strong ownership of strategy and business deliverables, ensuring agile delivery of agreed actions.
  • Explore solutions to improve effectiveness and productivity across the team.
  • Ensure team members are clear on their own and others' accountabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong understanding and ability to develop and coach staff.
  • Sound business acumen and a business qualification or similar preferred.
  • Confident, engaging, and natural ability to communicate, motivate, and lead staff.
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Life Insurance industry.
  • Willingness and ability to implement and embed the TAL coaching framework within the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach staff from underperforming to high-performing within the context of team and individual performance.
  • Strong people leadership and experience with people policy issues.
  • Ability to lead people through change and transformation.
  • Drives a positive culture and demonstrates TAL values and appropriate behaviors.
