We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise and skills to ensure that our services meet the highest industry standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive, label, log, and store samples and reagents per standard operating procedures and laboratory information management systems.
  • Ensure appropriate storage conditions and manage storage space across temperature ranges.
  • Maintain chain of custody and verify delivery/shipment conditions, reporting discrepancies.
  • Prepare shipments and execute/document sample destruction.
  • Support laboratory operations: sample preparation e.g., cell isolation from blood samples, cryopreservation, thawing, and counting.
  • Perform solution/reagent preparation.
  • Support equipment maintenance, inventory, and file archiving.
  • Perform tasks and maintain documentation as per appropriate SOP and applicable Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma in Laboratory Sciences.
  • One year experience in a laboratory (asset).
  • Experience working in a biological safety cabinet under sterile conditions.
  • Experience with Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs): isolation by Ficoll or CPT, cryopreservation, thawing, counting with hemocytometer (asset).
  • Experience in a GLP/GCLP environment (asset).
  • Organized and rigorous in the conduct of work.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Dynamic and motivated.
Working Conditions
  • 100% onsite.
  • Fixed schedule of Tuesday to Saturday shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Must accept to perform activities in a Biosafety Level (BSL) 1 or 2 laboratory where biological samples may be either naturally or experimentally infected with potentially hazardous viruses such as HIV, HCV, or CMV.
