Job Title: Sample Management Specialist

Job Description:

The Sample Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our laboratory. Key responsibilities include receiving, cataloging, and storing samples and reagents while adhering to stringent safety protocols and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, label, log, and store samples and reagents per established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Maintain chain of custody and verify delivery/shipment conditions, reporting discrepancies
  • Support lab operations: sample preparation (e.g., cell isolation from blood samples), cryopreservation, thawing and counting; prepare solutions/reagents
  • Perform tasks and maintain documentation as per SOPs and applicable Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)/Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Laboratory Sciences
  • 1 year of laboratory experience is an asset
  • Experience working in a biological safety cabinet under sterile conditions
