Job Description

The Centre for Molecular Oncology is a new research centre established within the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW. Our mission is to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer through patient-centred discovery programs and clinical trials.

The Research Officer, Team Lead positions will play a key role in managing operational teams and providing direction for patient recruitment associated with Cancer Screening Program comprehensive genetic profiling nationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and managing team members daily
  • Contacting patients and liaison with clinicians and medical services
  • Ensuring data quality checking and study reporting

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in business operations and operations management within a professional setting.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated skills in process improvement management and/or continuous improvement management
  • Strong track record of leading and supervising teams in operational environments
  • Experience monitoring and providing comments on performance metrics
  • Excellent time management abilities with adaptability to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of business improvement activities and experience in leading change processes
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent experience or equivalent skills acquired through any combination of education, training and experience
  • Previous experience or training in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean 6 Sigma or similar frameworks
