**Key Leadership Role**

The Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the role of Centre Manager. This pivotal position plays a key leadership role in providing strategic operational leadership and overseeing the day-to-day management of the Centre.

Reporting to the Centre Director, the Centre Manager will provide high-level strategic and operational advice, contribute expert input into the development and implementation of the Centre's strategy, policies, and planning, and ensure alignment with Faculty and University priorities.

The successful candidate will have direct responsibility for managing staff, resources, as well as ensuring effective governance, financial accountability, and operational efficiency.

Key to the success of this role is the ability to foster strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders across the University, research partners, and funding bodies.

This role requires a proactive leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on operational management, drive continuous improvement, and cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Centre's mission and long-term success.

**Responsibilities**:

  • Provide high-level strategic and operational advice to the Centre Director.
  • Contribute expert input into the development and implementation of the Centre's strategy, policies, and planning.
  • Manage staff, resources, and ensure effective governance, financial accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven experience in research management and administration.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with a commitment to staff development while driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.
  • High level organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff, students, management, and external stakeholders.
