Environmental Advisor Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Environmental Advisor to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide environmental advice to ensure legislative compliance, build and maintain strong relationships within the local community, and coordinate environmental monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating environmental assistance and providing accurate advice on our operations regarding environmental requirements;
  • Investigating and assisting with complaint and incident management;
  • Providing assistance with the preparation of accurate environmental performance reports;
  • Anticipating, identifying and recording any actual or potential environmental concerns and coordinating the provision of solutions to these concerns;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of our Environmental Management System;
  • Assist with the management and implementation of environmental projects;
  • Developing and maintaining environmental awareness training for employees and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental management/science or a related discipline;
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar position;
  • Basic knowledge of the NSW environmental regulatory framework;
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Competent computer literacy;
  • High level of integrity with the desire to innovate practical solutions;
  • Experience within an Open Cut Coal mining operation is desirable;
  • GIS experience is desirable.
