
Chief Economic Development Officer

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead initiatives that tackle complex social challenges, including homelessness, food insecurity, and unemployment. With a focus on families and young children, this role will be instrumental in advancing opportunities for meaningful participation in society, and reducing the harmful impacts of poverty on health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Stay across emerging research, trends, and best practices in the field.
- Analyse policies, programs, and interventions to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Provide strategic advice to shape our approach to economic development.
- Collaborate with teams to design and deliver innovative solutions.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with community organisations, policymakers, and advocates.
- Develop thought leadership content, such as reports and briefs, to amplify impact.
- Monitor and evaluate initiatives, recommending adjustments where needed.
- A relevant university degree and at least 5 years' experience in the economic development field, or equivalent expertise.
- Subject matter knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Housing and homelessness
- Food insecurity in family and community contexts
- Employment pathways for parents with young children
- Experience working with First Nations people and communities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex social issues and co-design practical, solution-focused responses.
