We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Source Protection Specialist.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the management of Public Drinking Water Source Area Catchments, approximately 4000sqKm, providing environmental expertise in Source Protection Administration and operational services.
As part of our organization, you will be responsible for protecting metropolitan water sources and ensuring the provision of safe drinking water to the community.
A secure drinking water catchment is essential in maintaining public health, and we manage around 120 surface and groundwater drinking water sources from the Kimberley Region to Albany, and far and wide in between.
This role involves working collaboratively with a team of six technical advisors, focusing on source protection and process improvement. You will work strategically to enhance source protection, collect data, and identify new technology to improve processes.
Key requirements include strong analytical and report writing skills, experience in land management, and GIS expertise. Additionally, collaboration with state government agencies and stakeholders is necessary to ensure land uses and public access do not negatively impact water quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or equivalent, along with advanced computer literacy and analytical skills.
We offer a diverse and inclusive workplace with opportunities for professional growth and development. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in our website.
The successful candidate will have aligned values and a passion for source protection. This is a permanent role with flexible working options, including RDO 9-day fortnight.
