Job Description:
The Strategic Liaison Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, external organizations, and senior executives. The role requires proactive issue identification and management, support to the Director-General in meeting departmental objectives, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the liaison team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Director-General's diary, organizing appointments in line with priorities established by the Director-General.
- Manage receipt and response to invitations and meeting requests received by the Director-General.
- Maintain efficient business systems and processes, managing information flow within the liaison team and across the department.
- Provide briefing material for meetings and events to the Director-General in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and assist the Director-General and liaison team in resolving human resource, financial, and other business support tasks and issues.
- Participate in and support the development and implementation of departmental projects.
- Organize executive travel arrangements, planning itineraries, booking travel, accommodation, and preparing expense claims.
- Establish innovative business practices and procedures to achieve better work practices and ensure adherence to policies, standards, and procedures.
- Prepare responses to Director-General requests and other relevant correspondence for consideration.
- Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to senior executives, officers, and external stakeholders on matters relating to the department on behalf of the Director-General.
- Develop and maintain relationships across the department, government, and private sector, ensuring effective communication between the liaison team and the Office of the Minister.
- Work closely with the liaison team to ensure the Director-General is fully briefed and prepared for all meetings, committees, and other diary appointments.
- Answer telephone calls and redirect enquiries.
- Undertake additional activities as directed by the Director-General and Director as required.
