Lead Audit Expert

The Lead Audit Expert plays a pivotal role in evaluating and assessing banking activities, delivering objective reports to senior management.

About the Role
  • This experienced leader will provide expert advice on governance and risk management across the Bank as needed.
Responsibilities
  1. Lead teams in providing independent assurance by reviewing governance, risk management frameworks, and controls for mitigating operational, financial, people, and strategic risks.
  2. Ensure comprehensive governance frameworks and controls promote effective risk mitigation by management.
  3. Guide teams to complete engagements in a positive, collaborative, and professional manner.
  4. Handle complex aspects of engagement scopes, facilitating management's agreement on scope and risk assessments.
  5. Oversee coordination and planning, including resourcing, managing subject matter experts, and adhering to time and cost budgets.
  6. Embrace innovation and create a supportive environment for experimentation during engagements.
  7. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Audit's strategic/business plan and related procedures and methodologies.
  8. Enhance your own and your team's professional skills by adhering to Audit's Training Policy and meeting continuing professional development requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and take a leadership role on audit projects.
  • Extensive experience in leading audit teams through complex audits and reviews.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted audit techniques and tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in auditing banking operations, financial services, financial markets, and financial instruments.
  • Advanced understanding of risk management frameworks and enterprise-wide risk management.
  • Expertise in risk-based auditing methodologies, including internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related disciplines.
