Risk Manager - Bank role at AMP. This role within the First Line Risk team supports AMP Bank's Lending and Everyday Banking Division. As a Risk Manager you are a trusted advisor to the Bank teams, helping embed risk frameworks and uplift risk maturity across the Bank.
This role involves facilitating risk assessments, supporting change initiatives, testing controls, and contributing to risk governance to ensure risks are identified, evaluated and mitigated effectively.
Responsibilities- Risk assessment: Facilitate risk profiling workshops and lead the documentation of risk assessments across business processes and change initiatives, ensuring risks are identified, evaluated and mitigated effectively.
- Risk in Change: Work with the Bank Value Stream to support change initiatives, ensuring risks are identified early and controls are embedded by design in new processes and systems. Identify and recommend process improvements within risk appetite.
- Control testing: Conduct regular control testing of the Bank's Key Control Framework to provide assurance that controls are effectively designed and operating as intended.
- Risk event and issue management: Support the investigation and remediation of operational risk events, ensuring correct root cause identification and trends are identified for continuous improvement.
- Material Service Providers risk profiles: Undertake outsourcing risk assessments to understand risks associated with the Bank's Material Service Providers and meet sourcing requirements.
- Business continuity: Maintain business continuity requirements to ensure resilience during disruptions, including facilitating scenario testing and reviewing/updating continuity plans.
- Training and awareness: Uplift risk culture across AMP Bank by delivering targeted training to Bank teams so employees understand their role in managing risks.
- Reporting and trend analysis: Contribute to risk governance by managing risk reporting for Risk Committees and delivering dashboards to senior management, including trend analysis to identify emerging risks and inform proactive mitigation.
- Experience in operational risk, internal/external audit, or assurance, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Understanding of risk management, including operational risk activities, controls testing, risk assessment methodologies and risk advisory.
- Proficiency with risk management platforms for risk event/incident management, controls testing and risk profiles.
- Ability to challenge and advise while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to act on feedback.
- Understanding of banking and legislative requirements, including CPS 230.
