Senior Risk Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Risk Manager, who is keen to learn, craves variety and is all about improving operational resilience, business continuity and control awareness and management withing the financial services sector. This is a key role with the ability to influence the business, drive change and really make a difference.

The Senior Risk Manager reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer. The primary objective of the role is to support BNK colleagues in understanding and maintaining adherence to BNK's operational and compliance risk obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational risk management framework, incorporating control design and oversight requirements and ensure alignment with CPS 230 and other regulatory standards.
• Provide independent review and challenge of control testing completed by line 1 functions.
• Support the business in maintaining strong risk management and reporting on critical operations.
• Oversee the uplift of the business continuity and disaster recovery plans, testing, and validation.
• Advise the business on the management of risks associated with material service providers, including evaluation of third-party controls.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics to track operational resilience.
• Prepare and present reports to the Board, senior management, and regulators on operational risk management including control effectiveness and resilience strategies.
• Collaborate with the business to complete assessment of risks on all new initiatives.
• Lead training initiatives to promote awareness of operational risk requirements.
• Foster a culture of compliance and resilience across the organisation.
• Be an integral part of the Risk Management Team with the flexibility to encompass other risk tasks and duties as required.

What you will bring

• Minimum 5 year's experience in a risk management role within the Financial or Professional Services industries.
• Ability to help our customers achieve their banking goals in a safe and secure manner.
• A growth mind-set and experience as a team player.
• Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Law or other relevant subject.
• Excellent problem solving and observational skills, with the ability to identify and provide trusted advice on risk matters.
• Demonstrated ability to be detail-focused and able to explain issues and concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Working knowledge of APRA, ASX and ASIC regulations and legislation.
