The role of Intake & Assessment Officer is a vital position within our organization, where you will be working closely with women who have experienced trauma. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their lives.

About the Role: Our team is dedicated to providing culturally grounded support services to Indigenous women. As an Intake & Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for guiding these women through our intake process, providing trauma-informed assessments, and linking them to relevant services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide gentle guidance to women through SWT's intake and eligibility process
  • Conduct trauma-informed assessments and offer brief solution-focused support
  • Link women to services and refer when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry in our client management system
  • Support healing-based group programs and assist with welcome packs

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualities:

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Have experience or understanding of family and domestic violence
  • Be grounded in community and able to sit in safety with women experiencing trauma
  • Hold professional boundaries while being culturally responsive
