Role Overview

This is a strategic leadership role within the Health & Safety team to shape the future of health and safety across the business. The Manager, H&S Strategy, Risk and Systems will oversee enterprise-wide health and safety risk, support business units in managing their operational risks, and ensure these efforts aggregate into a cohesive and mature risk profile.

The role involves overseeing the development and continuous improvement of our HSE management system - both in structure and digital application - ensuring it remains user-friendly, certified, and fit for purpose.

A key focus will be supporting the uplift of our digital platform (Protecht), helping to embed structured risk management practices across the business. This includes monitoring the execution of our H&S strategy, identifying future priorities, and benchmarking best practices from across the industry.

About You

  • As a seasoned health and safety professional, you bring a strong foundation in risk management, assurance, and HSE systems.
  • You have a structured, analytical mindset and can quickly get to the heart of complex issues.
  • You are a people-focused leader - approachable, collaborative, and able to foster trust and stability within a well-established team.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience in a senior H&S role within utilities, infrastructure, services, or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cultural change and implementing user-focussed H&S systems.
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based H&S systems, assurance programs, and critical risk management.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, from senior leaders to field workers.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Environment, or a related field (preferred).
  • Additional qualifications in Risk Management, Project Management, or Change Management (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of Australian HSE legislative frameworks.
