Health & Safety Specialist Role

Our organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing health, safety, and wellbeing projects across a national healthcare network.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing role, with experience developing health and safety related documentation, including procedures, templates and tools. Proven program/project management skills are also essential.

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk-based health and safety projects to support the development of the Healthscope Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS).
  • Support governance and execution through research, reporting, financial tracking, development of risk-based tools, regulatory review, and strategic advice to the HSW team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage health and safety projects by coordinating resources, maintaining documentation, monitoring project plans, and ensuring timely, on-budget delivery.
  • Support the development of health and safety management systems, including drafting procedures, guidelines, and forms.
  • Maintain the organisational health and safety risk register, upload risk assessments, and support sites with forms, templates, and risk management processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure systems and initiatives meet business needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Work, Health and Safety or higher.
  • Project Management training, e.g. Agile Certification, Prince2 or similar.
  • Membership or affiliation with a safety professional association.
