The Role

The Driver Leading Hand will be responsible for assisting the Operation Supervisor in supporting drivers and promoting safety and well-being while driving a rear lift truck in Launceston, Tasmania.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operate a rear lift truck to transport goods and materials efficiently.
  2. Coordinate the distribution of drivers, manage run sheets, and work orders to ensure seamless operations.
  3. Be the primary point of contact for truck breakdowns, resolving issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  4. Verify daily schedules to confirm work completion.
  5. Show agility in handling unexpected challenges, making on-the-spot decisions to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements

To excel in this position, you will need:

  1. A valid HR Licence with relevant experience.
  2. Early morning start times and flexibility to work 7 days a week.
  3. Basic knowledge of fatigue management principles.
  4. Strong communication and computer skills.
  5. A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
