Job Description

Commissioning and maintenance testing of HV Power Transformers is a key responsibility in this role. The ideal candidate will have strong theoretical and practical knowledge.

Construction, assembly, and repairs to HV Power Transformers, including bushing installation/replacement, leak repairs onsite and in workshop environment, are also essential tasks.

Proven experience with application of vacuum and performing oil filtration/degasification is highly desirable.

Assistance in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans, and creation of detailed technical reports upon completion of works are additional responsibilities.

  • Primary Testing of HV/LV Transformers (i.e. Tan Delta/Voltage Ratio/Winding Resistance/Dielectric Response/SFRA, Oil Sampling)
  • Circuit breaker and Switchboard testing knowledge would be advantageous

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Unrestricted QLD Electrical Fitter and Mechanics License
  • Minimum 4 years' experience post-trade
  • Valid Driver's License
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred
  • Knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards
  • Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders
