Job Description:

As a senior specialist in virtual platforms, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining VMware and Microsoft Virtual Infrastructure solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, as well as providing expert advice on virtualization strategies and implementations.

">Primary Purpose of the Role:
  • Provide advanced support for VMware ESXi 6.5 and above, including:
  • VMware ESXi Server 6.5 and above
  • VMware vCenter 7.x and above
  • VMware vRealize Operations
  • VMware vRealize Log Insight
  • VMware vRealize Network Insight
  • VMware vRealize Orchestrator
  • VMware NSX-T
  • VMware VCF 4.5 and above
  • VMware HCX
  • VMware VRA
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager

 

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Provide advanced support for Hyper-V 2016 and above, including SCVMM.
  • Support HPE Server Hardware, C7000 Blade Enclosures, and HPE System Insight Manager.
  • Support Dell Server Hardware, MX7000 Blade Chassis, and Dell Fabric Switching Engine.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic support for Windows Server and related infrastructure.
  • Provide feedback on customer experience, generate utilisation and licensing reports, perform capacity forecasting, and advise on strategic direction.
  • Liaise with customers to gather feedback on new features and capabilities and develop strategies to implement these.
  • Produce platform design documentation, provide input into wider enterprise architecture patterns, participate in system design processes, ITSM case management, and associated functions within a corporate ICT environment.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience in high-level support, maintenance, and design for Virtual Platforms in an enterprise ESX Server environment.
  • Experience operating within a team of professionals under broad direction, developing business relationships, sharing relevant knowledge and experience, and providing coaching and mentoring to junior staff members.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework, an ITIL Foundation Certificate is advantageous.
  • Experience deploying and managing VMWare Cloud Foundation, Amazon AWS VMC, and Microsoft Azure AVS is desirable.
  • Possessing scripting skills using PowerShell, including integration with VMware PowerCLI and HPE Support Modules, is advantageous.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance is necessary.
  • A driver's license is essential.
