Ecological Field Officer

We are seeking a motivated ecological field officer to join our research team at the ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society.

About the Opportunity

The successful applicant will work on-site in a highly diverse coastal ecosystem, contributing directly to long-term ecological research and engaging with First Nations peoples and park managers.

This role offers opportunities to develop advanced ecological survey skills, broaden fieldwork experience by contributing to surveys at other study sites across south-eastern Australia, and make a real impact supporting long-term biodiversity monitoring and science-based conservation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hands-on ecological fieldwork conducting flora and fauna monitoring using established protocols.
  • Engage with First Nations peoples and build strong cultural competence.
  • Contribute to surveys at other study sites across south-eastern Australia.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, biology or a related field.
  • Experience in ecological fieldwork, including flora and fauna monitoring.
  • Cultural competence and ability to work with First Nations peoples.
