
Communications Response Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Communications Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accepting incoming fire and other relevant emergency incident calls and enquiries, collecting relevant information, assessing risks associated with a situation, and determining the appropriate response and/or resources to be despatched.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and processing emergency calls, dispatching and coordinating appropriate resources, and notifying other organisations in accordance with the Communication Doctrine and Directives.
- Maintaining and updating all incident information in the centre's computer aided despatch system, continually monitoring progress, supporting and liaising with operational staff until completion of incident.
- Providing mentoring and guidance on the job to new staff, contributing to improvement of operational and administrative systems and procedures, and identifying systems and technical faults and liaising with Specialist Operational Services Unit in relation to reporting, maintaining and updating communications technology.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Experience in incident management systems, hazardous materials, and technical rescue operations.
