About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker at Spinal Life Australia, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care and support to clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with grooming, bathing, dressing, and dental hygiene, as well as personal care tasks such as toileting, bladder, and bowel management.
  • Transfers and Mobility: Safely transfer clients in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required.
  • Domestic Support: Assist with meal preparation, household duties, and laundry to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Community Access: Accompany clients to appointments and social activities, providing transportation and support as needed.
  • Basic Wound Care and Medication: Provide basic wound care and assist with self-medication, as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
About You

We are seeking individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Key qualifications and requirements include:

  • Current Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards: Hold, or be willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards.
  • Relevant Qualifications and Experience: Possess relevant qualifications and experience in the field of personal care or a related field.
