Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at Support Care Angels PTY LTD. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with Travel and Transport: Provide safe and reliable transportation for clients who require assistance with mobility or access to public transport.
  • Household Tasks: Assist clients with daily household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Assistance with Personal Activities: Support clients with daily living skills, including hygiene, dressing, and domestic tasks, to promote independence and confidence.
  • Assistance with Life Stage Transitions: Provide short or long-term support to clients navigating life transitions, such as accommodation and tenancy obligations, decision-making, and daily planning.
  • Participation in the Community: Accompany clients to community activities, supported shopping, medical appointments, and social events to promote social inclusion and connection.
  • Development of Life Skills: Support clients to develop skills for independent living, including travel and public transport use, to enhance their quality of life.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate 3 in aged care, disability care, individual support, and/or community care or equivalent.
  • Current First aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Australian Federal police check.
  • Willingness to obtain medication certification.
  • Ability to work with diverse people.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Satisfactory computer skills.
  • Driver's license preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Calm and rational response to emergency situations.
