Energy Management Director

The Associate Director, Energy Management is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Optus Energy Management System (EnMS) and driving the efficient and effective use of energy across the portfolio and its assets. This role will develop and implement the organisation's energy management policy, set achievable targets for energy use, and design action plans to achieve targets with ongoing measurement and reporting of progress.
The Day-to-Day
- Develop strategic approaches to energy efficiency that are built into project design and delivery to enhance return on investment and reduce ongoing costs.
- Collaborate with the Sustainability team to develop renewables strategies for Optus and reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
- Implement a comprehensive data management strategy around energy, water, refrigerant, gas, and diesel.
- Manage outsourced utility management partners and track energy cost modelling and forecasting.
- Identify and track energy saving opportunities with larger stakeholder groups.
- Reduce business risks associated with rising energy prices and inefficient energy use.
About You
- A degree in engineering or a related field.
- Certified Energy Manager.
- Strong working knowledge of the energy sector in Australia and understanding of how the sector needs to transition.
- Relevant experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
