Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Analyst to bridge the gap between market intelligence and trading. The ideal candidate will deliver real-time insights and conduct in-depth fundamental analysis to inform trading strategies.

  • Conduct detailed macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis on global commodity markets.
  • Track regulatory developments globally that impact commodity trading.
  • Identify, monitor, and evaluate upcoming catalysts for commodity markets.
  • Generate trading ideas based on expected volatility and direction, working closely with the trading team.
  • Monitor supply/demand trends, inventory levels, shipping flows, and policy changes.

Data-Driven Insights

The successful analyst will develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and research tools using Python, SQL, and other analytics platforms. Proficiency in these technologies is essential for delivering actionable insights and driving business growth.

  • Strong understanding of Chinese commodity markets and macroeconomic factors.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data handling, modeling, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or other market intelligence platforms.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in a commodities-focused analytical role.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken).
