Position Overview

Cox Purtell is seeking a highly skilled GenAI & Automation Engineer to join our team of experts in end-to-end AI-driven automation solutions. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that transform digital business operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop modular, reusable libraries to accelerate the deployment of future projects.
  • Define and promote best practices and industry standards for AI and automation solutions.
  • Draft comprehensive solution design documents for client-based implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges within intelligent automation systems.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies in GenAI and automation, applying insights to enhance client offerings.
Requirements
  • Permanent, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (i.e., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar).
  • 1 - 3 years relevant professional experience in a similar position.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI solutions and high-level programming using Python, including applications like Vector Search and RAG.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI, etc.) and Microsoft Azure AI Services (Form Recognizer, Custom Vision, OpenAI).
  • Expertise in modern development tools like GitHub or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders, design intelligent automation solutions, and create aligned user stories for development teams.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices such as CICD and branch management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable plans.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services (Azure Functions, Logic Apps) or similar technologies such as Python Flask.
  • Proficiency with Azure Data Services (Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks) and AI tools outside the Azure ecosystem.
  • Consulting experience, particularly working jointly with top-tier strategy firms, to deliver client outcomes.
  • Experience with containerized solutions (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and front-end web app development (e.g., React).
  • Familiarity with other intelligent automation tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Robocorp.
