Emergency Services Officer Role

The Emergency Services Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the electrical grid. This position requires an individual to respond to emergency situations, provide diagnostic services, and maintain network integrity.

The EMSO reports directly to the Field Manager and is responsible for:

  • Providing emergency response and diagnostic services to ensure network safety and reliability.
  • Prioritizing tasks to maximize productivity and efficient use of resources.
  • Replacing Low Voltage distribution fuses to maintain network integrity.
  • Conducting investigations into incidents, including electric shocks, fire damage, and HV into LV faults.
  • Preparing detailed reports and collaborating with emergency services and regulatory bodies during investigations.
  • Identifying non-conformance in customer installations and completing required reporting to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Relevant electrical trade qualification (Cert III in ESI Power Systems or equivalent).
  • Qualified Electrical Supervisors Certificate.
  • Class C Driver's License.
  • Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and other relevant statutory training.
  • WH&S WorkCover - General Induction.
  • Basic climbing procedures training.
