Job Summary

The Rooms Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless room assignments, inventory management, and guest satisfaction. Responsible for overseeing room allocations, tracking guest preferences, and managing room availability, the Rooms Controller collaborates closely with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments to optimize room usage and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily room assignments, ensuring guest preferences (room type, view, special requests) are met while balancing operational needs and maximizing occupancy.
  2. Coordinate with Front Office, Guest Relations, and Reservations teams to manage VIPs, loyalty upgrades, and upsell opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with Housekeeping to track room status, prioritize cleaning, and ensure timely check-ins.
  4. Monitor room availability and work with Revenue and Front Office to optimize occupancy, including handling walk-ins and last-minute changes.
  5. Fulfill guest requests for connecting rooms, bed types, and amenities; manage room changes efficiently with minimal disruption.
  6. Prepare room assignments in advance, reviewing daily arrivals and prioritizing VIPs, loyalty members, and suite bookings.
  7. Handle emergency room relocations and maintenance-related reassignments, ensuring guest communication and alternative arrangements.
About You

We seek an experienced Rooms Controller who has a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering luxury service. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a front office or rooms controller role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent guest service with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in Opera Cloud.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think on your feet in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
