Key Responsibilities

As a commodities reporter, you will be responsible for tracking supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market. This includes reporting on metallurgical coal prices on a daily and weekly basis that inform key indexes. Additionally, you will develop a keen understanding of the drivers of pricing, including S&D, supply chain, and derivatives markets.


You will also report and write breaking market news and in-depth analytical pieces that differentiate our content offering on metallurgical coal and coke. Furthermore, you will research and write on big picture issues that impact supply side economics, including policy developments, geopolitics, investment climate, and ESG.


Other responsibilities include being a key part of the production of the daily metallurgical coal publication, continually developing a strong contact base with sources, maintaining strong client and industry relationships, engaging actively in business development, and being a public face of the company in the coal space.
