Logistics Operations Manager Role

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Leader to spearhead the day-to-day activities of a dedicated team at our logistics facility in Townsville, QLD.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee operational activities, processes, and systems to ensure adherence to customer contractual obligations and service standards.
  • Foster a high-performing team by coaching and developing members to achieve excellence in safety, compliance, accuracy, productivity, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze regular performance reports to optimize cost/vehicle, utilization, and empty running.
  • Collaborate with teams to coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance, including proactive management and reporting.
  • Ensure timely completion of transit damage non-conformance reporting and drive improvements to root causes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers through continuous feedback mechanisms to meet their service expectations.
  • Support risk management, quality, and SCA activities to achieve legislative and organizational standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in supervising operations within the transport industry.
  • Applied knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, planning, and allocation/manifesting.
  • Familiarity with metro and regional areas within Far Northern QLD and major road networks in Australia (desired).
  • Able to coach, develop, and engage an operational team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service/management, and influencing/negotiation skills.
  • Sound troubleshooting/problem-solving capability, commercial acumen, and numeracy skills.
  • Intermediate experience in MS Office applications and capable of learning new systems, software, and technologies.
