A220 Project Team

We are currently planning for the future with our innovative approach to aviation. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of innovation and lead the way in introducing new technologies.

The introduction of the A220 narrow-body aircraft is a key part of our multi-billion dollar renewal investment. This aircraft will be introduced on regional routes and may eventually fly short-range international flights.

The A220 is one of the most modern, small, single-aisle aircraft available, featuring cutting-edge design, interior, and exterior technology. It also includes passenger comfort features that set it apart from other aircraft.

Expressions of interest are sought to join our project implementation team for the new A220 Fleet entry into service (EIS). Opportunities include secondment and permanent roles based in Sydney or Adelaide.

The skills required for this project are:

  • Flight Operations: Leadership and coordination in safety, training, operations, fleet standards, and quality assurance.
  • Cabin Crew Operations: Leadership and coordination in training and cabin crew operations.
  • Ground Operations: Training and below-wing ramp operations.
  • Engineering: Safety leadership, reliability, MIS and records, procurement, support, and learning content.
  • Safety and Human Resources: Risk management, change and communications, and senior HR generalist.

The project team will have an approximate 18-month lead time before the first flight. We will be supported by specialized expertise from both within our current B717 operations team and the broader Qantas Group.
