Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic

This role requires a skilled individual to support the mobile maintenance fleet with planned and unplanned line boring tasks on various earthmoving components.

  • Setup and operate machining tools and equipment, including liquid nitrogen for assembly and fitting of various components.
  • Complete minor welding and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot boring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Boilermaker Repairs/Fabrication:
  • Replace wear plates and strips using arc air gouging method.
  • Cut, grind and weld steel sections to form a fabricated structure.
  • Replace ground engaging tools (G.E.T)Boom and Stick Crack Repairs.
  • Perform chassis repairs on CAT/Liebherr/Komatsu machinery.
  • Inspect blades/buckets/trays/machines.
  • Solve in-pit breakdowns.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Hold nationally recognised trade qualification.
  • Adhere to high safety standards.
  • Hold EWP ticket.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and presentation skills in bucket rebuilds, repairs and refurbishments.
  • Possess significant post-trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment.
  • Hold current driver's licence (HR desired).
