Visual Effects Artistry

Combine live action and computer generated elements into seamless visual effects shots that realise the vision and creative direction of the client and Visual Effects Supervisor.

As a highly skilled Compositor, you will work with live action plates, 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering elements, and colour grading to create visually stunning shots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high quality complete shots that maintain the overall look, colour balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences
  • Evaluate your approach for assigned shots alongside the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor
  • Collaborate as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions; provide feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis
  • Work with and mentor Apprentice / Jr. Artists. Assisting them with their shots
  • Meet defined milestones within a timeline
  • Be active in creative problem solving

Qualifications

A strong fine arts foundation, including photography and photographic lighting is required. Experience and examples of work in compositing or a related field are also essential. Fluency in Nuke and Python experience is a plus.

Ability to write Nuke gizmos is a plus. A showreel of your compositing skills and a reel or portfolio are highly recommended.
