Australia's energy landscape is evolving, and AusNet Services is at the forefront of this transformation. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior SCADA Engineer to join our Energy Network Systems team.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in SCADA and Energy Management Systems to drive real outcomes for our customers and the environment. You'll play a critical role in delivering a range of functions relating to managing and operating the GE e-Terra SCADA platforms, technologies, and associated applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support, maintenance, development, and continual improvement across AusNet's GE e-Terra Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platforms, technologies, and related applications.
  • System maintenance tasks as per standard protocols and procedures.
  • Incident and problem management, including maintenance of system support processes, and prioritization, triage, and resolution of problems and incidents impacting the AEMS platform and associated technologies and applications.
  • Analysing service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability, monitoring performance, and anticipating issues and problems.
  • Patch management, including configuration and implementation of patches in accordance with protocols and procedures.
  • Assisting with designing, managing, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and processes.
  • Management of planned and unplanned changes in accordance with established change control procedures.
  • Actively seeking opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to improve performance of the AEMS.
What You'll Need:
  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA and AEMS Systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of GE e-Terra AEMS System.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the discipline obtained through experience, networking, research, and other means of professional development.
  • Understanding of primary plant, network protection, and control devices, with experience in functional design, testing, and commissioning of special protection schemes and remedial action schemes, desirable.
  • Knowledge of substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation, desirable.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on SCADA, Power System Engineering, highly desirable.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
