Make a Real Impact on AusNet's AEMS Platforms

AusNet Services is seeking a highly skilled SCADA Engineer to join our Energy Network Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering a range of functions relating to managing and operating the GE e-Terra SCADA platforms, technologies, and associated applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support, maintenance, development, and continual improvement across AusNet's GE e-Terra Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platforms, technologies, and related applications.
  • System maintenance tasks as per standard protocols and procedures.
  • Incident and problem management, including maintenance of system support processes, and prioritization, triage, and resolution of problems and incidents impacting the AEMS platform and associated technologies and applications.
  • Analyze service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability, monitor performance, and anticipate issues and problems.
  • Patch management, including configuration and implementation of patches in accordance with protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with designing, managing, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and processes.
  • Manage planned and unplanned changes in accordance with established change control procedures, including new or changed network elements.
  • Actively seek opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to improve performance of the AEMS.
Requirements:
  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA and AEMS Systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of GE e-Terra AEMS System.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the discipline obtained through experience, networking, research, and other means of professional development.
  • Understanding of primary plant, network protection, and control devices, with experience in functional design, testing, and commissioning of special protection schemes and remedial action schemes, desirable.
  • Knowledge of substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation, desirable.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on SCADA, Power System Engineering, highly desirable.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
