Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support, maintenance, development, and continual improvement across AusNet's GE e-Terra Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platforms, technologies, and related applications servicing electricity (transmission & distribution) and gas (distribution)
  • System maintenance tasks as per standard protocols and procedures
  • Incident and problem management including maintenance of system support processes, and prioritization, triage, and resolution of problems and incidents impacting the AEMS platform and associated technologies and applications
  • Analyzing service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability, monitoring performance, and anticipating issues and problems
  • Patch management including configuration and implementation of patches in accordance with protocols and procedures
  • Assisting with designing, managing, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and processes
  • Management of planned and unplanned changes in accordance with established change control procedures, including new or changed network elements (new database points)
  • Actively seeking opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to improve performance of the AEMS

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA and AEMS Systems
  • Detailed knowledge of GE e-Terra AEMS System
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the discipline obtained through experience, networking, research, and other means of professional development
  • Understanding of primary plant, network protection, and control devices, with experience in functional design, testing, and commissioning of special protection schemes and remedial action schemes, desirable
  • Knowledge of substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation, desirable
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on SCADA, Power System Engineering, highly desirable
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia
