Settlements Officer Role Overview

The primary objective of a Settlements Officer is to oversee the settlement process for commercial property loans, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Managing the settlement process involves coordinating with solicitors, reviewing loan documentation, and verifying compliance with all relevant conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including solicitors and key team members.
  • Preparing drawdown notices and facilitating funds transfer are critical aspects of this role.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Recording details of loan security and terms for effective loan servicing.
  • Collaborating with the Finance team to ensure timely settlements and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintaining records of loan discharges and schedule sell-downs.
Key Competencies

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • 2-3 years of experience in banking or paralegal roles, preferably with exposure to commercial property loan settlements.
  • Proficiency in loan processing, documentation, and mortgage processing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
